While we continue to probe and re-probe our contacts at the publishers we want to get to know, we've also been exploring alternative funding opportunities. We understand and are comfortable with the fact that we will need to find a way to survive on our own for a year while we make our first game. However, we're still hoping to find some sort of partial funding in the event that we don't go the traditional publisher-funded route. To that end, we have applied to several other funding sources without any luck so far (though one investor option said to reapply once we're a bit further along so that it is more obvious which direction we're going, which is exciting).
The next best option, we think, is do do a kickstarter crowdfunding drive. We're starting to determine our funding goal, what rewards we'll give donors, and what our application video should be. We hope to launch our kickstarter fund-raising drive at the beginning of July.
